Notes Daniel Monahan Dan is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Astrolabe Enterprises, Inc (AEI). Dan formed AEI in early 2015 with his partner Maj. Gen Dave “DC” Commons, USAF (Ret.). The team of professionals they assembled are dedicated to providing a unique and value added service to select U.S. allies in the area of defense services and defense articles, through strategic partnerships. He entered the private sector after completing a 26 year distinguished career in the United States Air Force. His last assignment was with the Department of State as Senior Military Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasion Affairs. In this capacity, he served as an interface between the State Department, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the Joint Staff. From 2003 to 2006, he served as the Deputy Director of Operations at the White House Military Office after a four year flying assignment at the President’s Airfield where he instructed in the VIP 757 (C-32B) aircraft and commanded the 89th Operational Support Squadron. Dan also flew KC-135’s and C-141’s. An active member of the Army Navy Country Club since 1999, Dan served as the Club’s President for five years and on its board for 12 years. He was instrumental during that time in having Yellow Ribbon Fund designated as the Club’s only charitable organization. He has supported the annual ANCC/YRF Golf Fund Raiser since its inception in 2000, raising over $2,000,000. Dan is married to the former Jody Baker and has two sons, Daniel and Connor.
