About
What we do at AlixPartners is the most exciting work in business. We meet Companies in exciting moments; when something unusual like a merger, a major growth opportunity, or the need to transform or restructure is present…moments that really matter. For me, it’s a passion and a vocation. I’ve been able to work with Boards and management teams all over the globe in a variety of industries to help them restructure, organize for growth, assess and optimize value chains, and design new operating models that scale and capture new revenue opportunities. One of the most rewarding parts of this has been working with my colleagues and fellow leaders at AlixPartners, and I was honored to serve as the firm’s CEO for eight years, until 2015. I am now our Senior Vice Chairman and sit on the Board of Directors.
Realizing the need to share best practices and empower our next generation of Managing Directors, I helped launch the AlixPartners mentoring and leadership training program in 2016. We’ve continued to iterate and update the program to reflect market shifts and the rapid pace of disruption that our clients face in nearly every industry and every area of the globe. I learn from our people at all levels every day, and we can see this program making a difference in our ability to serve clients with empathy and solid judgement.
I have recently sponsored the firm’s research into the factors that are causing market disruption, and what successful companies are doing to keep pace. Our Disruption Insights report identifies those factors, including connectivity/technology, self-centrism and consumer behavior, uncertainty, environmental awareness and populism. I also do a lot of speaking and writing on leadership and disruption, at both industry conferences and business schools, including Yale and Harvard, and publish a regular column on ChiefExecutive.net.
