Mr. Happ joined IFRC to head their Information Services Department in the Secretariat based in Geneva and five regional Zone Offices on most continents. He developed IFRC's first comprehensive IT Strategy, which was approved by the global senior management team in February 2011. This strategy is focused on bridging the digital divide within the RC Movement, where 79 of 187 national societies are in need of assistance to become full members of the Federation.
During his second year at IFRC, Mr. Happ was invited to be a practitioner in residence at the Rockefeller Foundation center in Bellagio. Here he began work on a book on collaboration, based on the lessons learned at NetHope and IFRC.
Following the successful completion of the 5-year IT strategy, Mr. Happ retired from IFRC to pursue writing, teaching and advising the next generation of IT leaders. |
