Responsible for ATI’s Enterprise and Multimedia business, reporting to the SVP of the PC business group. This position was responsible for managing the P&L for ATI’s Graphics Workstation business, Embedded graphics Business, Server Graphics Business, Multimedia retail and ASIC products business as well as having design responsibility for all the display and video technologies for the entire corporation. The organization was comprised of 300 staff, including design and marketing teams in Toronto, Santa Clara CA, Germany, France, as well as the acquisition of an ASIC design group in Shanghai. In addition to P&L and product responsibility, this position entailed being the corporate executive responsible for Digital Rights Management (DRM) issues which required executive interaction with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the US Cable industry and key stakeholders in the IT industry in order to coordinate policy around the use of premium content on the PC platform.
