Notes Academic Services Director Company NameMadison Area Technical College Dates EmployedJan 2008 – Jun 2013 Employment Duration5 yrs 6 mos LocationMadison, Wisconsin Area This next step in my career took me from serving and leading in an environment with varied interests and needs based on organization type (i.e., education and government), to one more narrowly focused on the evolving needs of this college’s 40,000-member user community. My priority was on using technology to enable educational initiatives. I led a team of 15 people as we worked together to align all enterprise academic technologies and services with organizational needs. In this management role, I defined and communicated a vision for technology-enhanced learning and provided overall leadership for college-wide IT-facilitated academic services. My role had me leading diverse, cross-functional teams to collaboratively plan projects, improve business processes, and implement new technologies and services. Here are some sample initiatives: • Learning Management System (LMS) and SIS integrations. • Telepresence functionality and support as well as mobile, media, web collaboration and other classroom technology. • Point of sale (POS) systems. • Patient record systems using ITIL methodology. ▬▬ SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS ▬▬ • Advocated for investment in a new LMS environment based on long-term needs. Then, enlisted stakeholder support and led the project to successful conclusion. • Led simultaneous course retention policy development and general online classroom governance initiatives enabled by new technology. • Spearheaded broad-based effort to enlist community stakeholders into technology roadmap planning, an effort that paid dividends in improved internal brand and partnerships. • Delivered all technology systems on time to support opening of new $218 million facility, including healthcare education assets for Health Sciences classrooms (i.e., dental and nursing. • Managed project and program budgets to successfully achieve all financial objectives.
