Notes Eric currently serves as Executive Chairman of U.S.News & World Report, the nation’s leading news authority on rankings and expert guidance on life decisions; and CEO of Ulysses Ventures, a multi-strategy investment fund. Eric formerly served as Co-Chairman / Co-Publisher of the New York Daily News, New York’s hometown newspaper. Under his leadership, the paper expanded its digital capabilities and reach as well as its marketing and content partnerships. During Eric’s tenure, The Daily News was honored with a Pulitzer Prize, for public service journalism in 2017. Prior to these roles, Eric served as EVP of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and as Managing Director of the Center for Economic Transformation under both Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Mayor Bill de Blasio. In this role, he was responsible for spurring economic development by overseeing over 100 initiatives and directing hundreds of millions of dollars of city investments into the local economy. Prior to his government service, Eric successfully led technology and media companies. In technology, Eric served as CEO of Altruik (product optimization), PrimeAxis Media (consumer rankings), and Privista (identity theft protection). In media, Eric served concurrently as the President of U.S.News & World Report, Fast Company, and The Atlantic, for which he managed day-to-day operations with a focus on expanding the respective brands into new areas, including online and conferences. Eric is also the author of the critically acclaimed book Prying Eyes: Protect Your Privacy From People Who Sell To You, Snoop on You or Steal From You (Random House). He began his career as an attorney with Skadden Arps. Eric was honored in 2017 as a Great Immigrant by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, which recognizes the extraordinary contributions of naturalized citizens. Eric was also named to City & State’s “The 2016 Responsible 100 List” honoring corporate social responsibility in New York City.
