Hopelab is a social innovation lab focused on designing science-based technologies to improve the health and well-being of teens and young adults. We are one of the social impact organizations supported by the Omidyar Group, which represents the philanthropic interests of Pierre and Pam Omidyar.
What do you get when you combine motivational psychology with socially focused design? We answer this question in many different ways, every day, as we develop technologies that improve the health and well-being of teens and young adults. Grounded in the systems thinking approach that informs work happening all across The Omidyar Group, our approach weaves together science and design in a unique Hopelab DNA.
We design interventions driven by insights from behavioral psychology to have the greatest impact on the health and well-being of teens and young adults, whether that’s a video game designed to increase medication compliance in young cancer patients or an activity tracker designed to motivate physical activity. Hopelab holds itself to the highest research industry standards, conducting randomized-control trials on the solutions we develop, whenever possible.
