Dr Fruth was responsible for overseeing alignment of the various state and federally funded educational programs with the developing Ohio academic content standards. Dr. Fruth directed the development of new academic content standards for pK-12 students in the area of technology as well as technology resources with developing state curriculum models in all content areas. He also was tasked with the development of Ohio Operating Standards for virtual schools and courses to be utilized by stakeholders developing eSchools/eCourses within Ohio. Dr. Fruth was also charged with developing, supporting and providing a consistent approach to the evaluation of new technologies and their applications in order to build ODE’s intellectual capital as well as identify and support the development of “communities of practice”. This work included the large-scale engagement required during the EMIS state data system redesign.
