I work at the intersection of computer science, economics, and public policy. I spend half my time doing original research in computational social science and applied machine learning and the other half building practical tools aimed at solving real-world problems with data. The purpose of my work is to advance the frontiers of both human knowledge and human action, and find new, productive, and replicable uses of data that advance social equality, economic opportunity, and environmental sustainability.
