The Center for Early Learning (CEL) at Silicon Valley Community Foundation has worked to make high-quality early learning a priority since 2014. CEL conducts research, convenes community leaders and advocates for change to ensure that young children have access to early learning opportunities and develop in healthy ways.
In this role, I manage the communication strategy for CEL, which includes writing grant proposals and reports for funders and generating digital content. I conduct outreach to build strategic relationships and analyze, forecast and monitor program budgets.

The Big Lift is a collective impact initiative run by three lead agencies - The County of San Mateo, Silicon Valley Community Foundation and San Mateo County Office of Education. In San Mateo County, 50% of third graders are not reading at grade level. The Big Lift's goal is to improve third grade reading proficiency by focusing on four pillars: high quality preschool, inspiring summer programming, embedded family engagement and reduced levels of absenteeism.
As the Grants Coordinator for the Big Lift, I oversaw an $8M grantmaking portfolio. I developed and maintained positive relationships with grantees and helped monitor the impact of programming. I also conducted annual site monitoring visits to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and provided ongoing technical assistance to SVCF staff, grantees and vendors to ensure compliance with financial and programmatic requirements.
