Notes Hoonuit and Santa Clara County Office of Education Expand DataZone Partnership Posted by Andrea Gronberg on Mar 8, 2018 4:23:28 PM inShare Powerful data warehouse and analytics now optimized for California reporting Hoonuit, the leader in K12 student performance metrics, announced today its expanded partnership with Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE). DataZone, the education data repository and hub for the Silicon Valley Regional Data Trust administered by the SCCOE, involves health and human services and justice agencies in the Santa Clara, San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties, and the University of California, Santa Cruz in the project with 27 districts participating, serving over 250,000 students. Building on the success of a partnership that began three years ago, DataZone will now expand its powerful data analytics capabilities throughout the state with solutions optimized for California. DataZone was established to invest in the future of children, families, and communities in the tri-county area and encourage districts to use comprehensive data to promote positive student outcomes. Through this work and leveraging Hoonuit as its data warehouse and analytics partner, member districts have seen significant results. School Districts, like Santa Clara Unified, are leveraging their DataZone data to drive improved graduation rates and reduce disproportionality in their disciplinary practices. "Hoonuit has served as a key partner with a shared vision to support educators in data-driven decision-making," said Dr. Mary Ann Dewan, Superintendent for the Santa Clara County Office of Education. Marcy Lauck, Director of Data Governance for the County Office affirms that, "We're excited to continue and amplify our relationship with Hoonuit to provide more districts affordable access to this sophisticated technology and use student data to drive more change across California." With Hoonuit already partnering with several California education agencies along with more than 800 districts across the country, the organization is seen as a national thought leader in recognition of its positive impact on more than ten million students. This opportunity will not only improve student outcomes throughout California, but will also serve as a model of success for other U.S. county, regional, and state agencies. "We are honored to deepen our partnership with SCCOE," said Paul Hesser, CEO of Hoonuit. "Together through our combined efforts with DataZone, we are now creating modern, in-depth views of insights to empower educators throughout California to directly support the success of all learners and plan to replicate that success in other states."
