Notes ISAAC EWELL Director - BAEO & Co-Founder - Soulgen.com Before leading the launch of BAEO’s High-Quality Black-Led Charter School Initiative, Isaac Ewell served as Director of the BAEO-Gates Small Schools Project. Through this project, funded by a multi-million dollar grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he oversaw the opening of five new small high schools, three in Philadelphia, one in Milwaukee, and one in Baton Rouge; together, these schools educate over 1,200 students, 97 percent of whom are Black. Ewell’s previous experience includes positions as Director of Development for a leading Supplemental Educational Services (SES) company, Director of Government Affairs for Pennsylvania’s largest health plan, Instructional Designer and Trainer for AT&T and Ernst and Young’s Intellinex. He has also taught in both public and private schools. Ewell serves on the board of directors of Boys Latin Philadelphia, Wissahickon Charter School, and The Blues Babe Foundation. He holds a B.A. from Morehouse College and a Master’s in Education from Harvard University. Ewell is a dedicated husband and father of four.
