Nicholas Weinstock is the president of Invention Films, a movie and television company located at Fox Studios, while also serving as co-head of the Fox Writers Studio -- an innovative venture in which a dozen screenwriters work together in a creative think tank to produce original movies for 20th Century Fox. Weinstock has worked as a book editor at Random House and Riverhead Books, a teacher in South Africa, a firefighter in New York state, an essayist for National Public Radio and a journalist for The New York Times, The Nation, Spy Magazine, Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Poets & Writers and many other national publications. He is the author of a nonfiction book, The Secret Love of Sons, and two novels, As Long as She Needs Me and The Golden Hour. Formerly the creative head of Apatow Productions, he oversaw comedy in television and movies for Chernin Entertainment before assuming his double-position at Fox. Weinstock teaches creative writing in public schools in the Compton and Crenshaw neighborhoods of Los Angeles and serves on the council of the Authors Guild and on the board of the Jackie Robinson Foundation. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, the writer Amanda Beesley, and their three children.
