Gary E Hendrickson

Hendrickson was chairman and CEO of Valspar Corporation, retiring in 2017. He served as COO, president of multiple business units and corporate VP and president of Asia Pacific at Valspar. Previously, he served for 11 years in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He currently is chairman of the board at CPG International LLC and is on the board of Polaris Industries Inc. Prior to becoming CEO in 2011, Hendrickson was Valspar’s president and chief operating officer for three years. He joined Valspar’s packaging business in 1994 and has held a variety of senior leadership roles, including group vice president, Global Wood Coatings, president, Valspar Asia Pacific and senior vice president for Valspar's Consumer business. Hendrickson was elected to Valspar’s Board of Directors in 2009 and became chairman in 2012. He also serves as a director of Polaris Industries, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Harvard University.
