Anthony W Deering

Anthony W. Deering, a longtime Baltimore civic and business leader and an emeritus member of the Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine boards of trustees, died at the of 72 in November 2017. Born in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Anthony Deering graduated from Drexel University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science and went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1971. In his professional life, Anthony Deering has served as the Chairman of the private investment firm Exeter Capital, LLC, since 2004. Earlier in his career, he held numerous executive positions at The Rouse Company, including Board Chairman and CEO, and served in an advisory capacity with companies such as Under Armor and the Brixmor Property Group. Outside of his career, Anthony Deering dedicated his life to supporting and contributing to various community-based organizations in the greater Baltimore area. He has held key director and advisory roles with the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Friends School of Baltimore, the Peabody Conservatory, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.
