Richard A. Cheap is general counsel and secretary for Huntington Bancshares Incorporated. He joined Huntington in 1998. Previously, he was a partner of the law firm Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur. Cheap’s practice is concentrated on corporate and federal income taxation advice with an emphasis on transactional matters, including reorganizations, leveraged buy-outs, acquisitions and public and private offerings. Cheap received a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University; a law degree from Northwestern University and a master’s of law in taxation from Georgetown University. He is a member of the American Bar Association.
