Richard F Syron

Mr. Syron has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, commonly referred to as Freddie Mac, the second largest source of mortgage financing in the United States, since December 2003. From June 1999 to January 2000, Mr. Syron served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Thermo Electron Corporation, which designs and develops technology-based instruments, and from January 2000 until December 2003 also served as Chairman of the Thermo Electron board. Mr. Syron is currently a member of the board of the Freddie Mac Foundation, is a Trustee of Boston College, and is a Trustee of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.
