Jay Y Lee

Only son of former Samsung Group chairman Lee Kun Hee. Promoted to president of Samsung Electronics in December 2010. Previously served as vice president and chief operating officer. Began his career at Samsung, Korea's largest conglomerate, in 1991. Has an MBA from Keio University in Japan. Samsung accounts for almost 20% of Korea's gross domestic product, is the world's top liquid-crystal display panel and memory chipmaker. It's the second largest mobile phone manufacturer after Nokia. Jay Lee served in the past as country manager for OLPC in Korea and China, and directs other work in East Asia. He previously headed the Future Convergence lab at Samsung for 5 years.
