Sergio Calderon was elected Division 4 Director of the Water Replenishment District in 2006 and is now serving his fourth term, representing residents and workers in the district since his most recent election in 2018. A strong supporter of WRD’s Water Independence Now (WIN) program, Calderon has championed recycled water, stormwater capture, and advanced treatment projects to reduce reliance on imported water. He works for the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Division of Adult and Career Education as a teacher and advisor, and is an advocate for adult learners and career pathways. His civic involvement includes service with the California Council for Adult Education and the Huntington Park/Bell Adult Leadership Advisory Board, along with work supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
