Dr. Nyree Berry is a South Bay-raised educator, sociologist, and civic leader with extensive experience in community colleges, nonprofit leadership, and equity-focused public service. She has held senior roles within the Los Angeles Community College District, including director of African American Outreach and founding executive director of a Race, Equity, and Social Justice Center, and currently teaches sociology at Los Angeles City College. Berry has also run for the El Camino College Board of Trustees, emphasizing student access, retention, workforce development, and institutional accountability, while serving locally on Torrance’s Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation Commission.
