Kurt Weideman

Kurt Weideman was appointed to the Torrance City Council in July 2013 to fill a vacancy and was elected in June 2014. During his tenure, he chaired the Citizen Development and Enrichment Committee and the Armed Forces Day Special Standing Committee, and served on the Strategic Plan, Transportation, and Federal Legislative Advocacy committees. He also acted as Voting Delegate to the South Bay Cities Council of Governments and Alternate Liaison to the Sister City Association. Prior to public office, Weideman spent 26 years in the aerospace industry, retiring as Vice President and General Manager of Lisi (Hi-Shear).
