Prior to joining Highland, John was a Director with Intel Capital China. In this capacity he led investments in the social networking site 51.com; media companies DAC and Adsit Media/BaiduTV; and the TV shopping company LuckyPai. Previously, John was the Asia-based General Partner for Crystal Ventures where he co-led investments in PowerBridge Technology and SMIC (NYSE: SMI). He was also a founding employee and VP of Corporate Development at Rebound.com, a B2B exchange for excess inventory. Earlier in his career, John was at San Francisco headquarters of Walden International where he was actively involved in the investments of About.com (NASDAQ:BOUT), LookSmart (NASDAQ: LOOK), and Sina Corp (NASDAQ: SINA). Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, John was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in New York and Hong Kong. Education Vassar College, B.S.
