Karl Minter

Capt. Minter is directly responsible for the strategic development of critical partnerships between industry, educational institutions and the community to maximize the exposure of youth interested in aerospace. He also consults with industry and educators on Next Generation Technologies, training, mentoring and human capital development. Captain Karl Minter is a current and qualified B-777 Captain for United Airlines with over 22,000 hours of flying experience. Originally from St. Albans Queens, NY, he has been involved in aviation for the last 47 years. He has worked for Sikorsky Aircraft Company in Stratford, CT, as a Flight Test Engineer prior to becoming a pilot in the United States Air Force. He is a Combat Decorated Command Pilot and has flown missions to Grenada, Panama, Desert-Shield and Desert-Storm, while providing safe and efficient worldwide transport to the Department of Defense, White House Staff and national leaders. Lt Col Minter, ret’d from the US Air Force after 26-years of military service, he holds numerous medals, citations and certificates. In addition, to being an active Captain for United Airlines, he is an Aviation Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Aircraft Accident Investigation credentials, and as a ALPA Representative on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) – Operations Specification Working Group(OSWG), and the Avionics Harmonization Working Group(ASHWG). Other civic duties that Capt. Minter performs include Chairman of the Board of Advisors (BOA) for the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP). He is an Engaged Leader, and a Member of the Board of Trustees, Tuskegee University, and he is also a Board Member for the Friends of Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site (FTANHS), and a National Board Member for INROADS Inc. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle University, and an MBA (Honors Graduate) from Regis University. Capt. Minter currently lives in Virginia and is married with three adult children.
