Kimberly J McWaters

Kimberly McWaters, who rose from receptionist to become one of the longest-tenured female CEOs at a sizable Arizona corporation, plans to retire at the end of October. McWaters, 55, said she will continue to serve on the board of Scottsdale-based Universal Technical Institute, which trains mechanics and other technicians, after Oct. 31. She joined the company 35 years ago. Ms. McWaters has served as a director since December 2004. Since October 2003, Ms. McWaters has served as CEO of Universal Technical Institute, Inc. ("UTI"), a nationwide provider of technical educational training for individuals seeking careers as professional automotive technicians. Since February 2000, Ms. McWaters has served as President of UTI. From 1984 until 2000, Ms. McWaters held several positions at UTI including vice president of marketing and vice president of sales and marketing.
