Michael brings nearly three decades of professional experience and an unusually broad background to film and video projects. His projects have won numerous industry awards – including Emmy, cable ACE, ITVA Golden Reel, Cindy, and AMI Gold Awards. But he values the appreciation of his clients more. After receiving a B.A. from Harvard in 1980 he cut his teeth in local cable TV, shooting and editing local political coverage and high school athletics, and later writing, directing, and editing local “after 11PM” spots. In the mid-eighties, he moved into the advertising world and became a sought-after freelance commercial editor and assistant director. In 1987, Michael joined Spotwise, a broadcast promotion agency and production company, as senior editor. There he edited hundreds of spots, supervising the entire post-production process, and later directing and writing promo campaigns as well. In 1991, Michael established himself as an independent editor and post production consultant, editing national and regional advertising and promotion for a variety of agencies and clients. He was one of the first Avid non-linear editors in the Boston area, and in ’95 formed an editing partnership with Picture Park, a commercial production company.
