Grace Chao

Grace, the fifth Chao daughter, is a graduate of Wellesley College. She earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University. Grace works at an international educational and research institution specializing in the study of a society’s elites, including their formation and their impact on geopolitical events, domestically and globally. Grace and her husband, Gordon Hartogensis, are sponsors and benefactors of the Gordon Hartogensis and Grace Chao Stanford University Undergraduate Scholarship. They have two daughters, Alexia and Penelope.
