Sundie Seefried is CEO and president of Partner Colorado Credit Union, located in Denver, Colorado. She has served in the credit union industry since 1983 and as CEO since 2001. She holds a bachelor’s in business management from Regis University. Seefried imagined that these would be her golden years, time spent at her vacation house in Santa Fe painting desert flowers in the style of Georgia O’Keeffe. Seefried is just 56, but she was a credit-union veteran when she joined Partner Colorado in 1995; as its chief executive, she kept it profitable through the 2007 recession. She discovered that the conflict over marijuana — permitted by the state, prohibited by the United States — in Colorado and elsewhere has created a strange and uncertain legal landscape.
