Joseph Dorn

Joe Dorn is the founding partner of King & Spalding’s International Trade Group. His practice focuses on international trade disputes in the United States, foreign countries, and before the World Trade Organization. Mr. Dorn is recognized by The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, Trade and Customs Lawyers (2005, 2006, 2007), Chambers USA (2005, 2006, 2007), Washington DC Super Lawyers (2007, 2008), and The Legal 500 US - Litigation (2007) as a leading practitioner in the field of international trade. He also is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2006, 2007). In the United States, Mr. Dorn has successfully pursued trade remedy actions on behalf of U.S. industries against imports from China, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Australia, New Zealand, France, and other countries. He has handled a wide variety of trade remedy investigations, including antidumping and countervailing duty cases, safeguard cases, and Section 337 cases (patent and trademark infringement) and on behalf of a wide array of industries (e.g., cement, steel, crude oil, welded pipe, tires, laminated woven sacks, thermal paper, magnesium, tobacco, furniture, plastic bags, cookware, stoves, beef, skate boards, paint brushes, raspberries). Mr. Dorn has also successfully handled numerous NAFTA and WTO dispute settlement proceedings and argued numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has spoken at seminars in Europe, Asia, and North America on customs and trade law issues, and at judicial conferences of the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also has testified before Congressional Committees concerning international trade legislation.
