Hussam “Sam” Hamadeh, founder and chief executive of PrivCo and co-founder of Vault.com, has died. He was 44 years old. Mr. Hamadeh founded New York-based financial-data provider PrivCo in 2009 and had since served as its CEO. He co-founded career-building website Vault.com in 1997 with his brother Samer Hamadeh and partner Mark Oldman, after receiving an M.B.A. and a J.D. from the Wharton School and University of Pennsylvania Law School. Mr. Hamadeh served as Vault’s president through his sale of a majority stake in Vault in 2007 to Veronis Suhler Stevenson. Mr. Hamadeh founded PrivCo to uncover financial data on private companies. Mr. Hamadeh had served on the Board of Managers of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and co-wrote several books. In addition to his brother Samer, survivors include his brothers Bassim and Basil Hamadeh.
