Known as Australia's fast food king, Jack Cowin built the Competitive Foods Australia food empire. A former insurance salesman, he started with one KFC outlet after emigrating from Canada in 1969. He then took on the Australian franchise operations for Burger King, renaming the restaurants Hungry Jack's. He is also chairman and a major shareholder in Domino's Pizza Enterprises. He holds a big stake in the Sydney Harbour Bridge tourist attraction BridgeClimb together with billionaire Brett Blundy. Cowin's nickname is "Hungry Jack."
