THE HETTY GROUP LLC is led by Florence Chung, Founding Principal, who has cultivated a strong network of influencers and business/community leaders over her 15 years of experience in the corporate, nonprofit and government sectors. She was previously with Target Corporation, where she managed a corporate social responsibility initiative developing strategic partnerships, managing corporate grant and sponsorship programs, and advising regional leadership on employee volunteerism. By managing external affairs within the civic and business community, Florence played a key leadership role in establishing Target’s brand presence with new stakeholder groups in the Western U.S. Region. Florence has led multiple public/private partnership ventures, including the formation of an information sharing platform between law enforcement and the private security industry. Prior to Target, she developed new initiatives for city government to give business leaders more streamlined access to city services and spearheaded the establishment of a new city police foundation. Aside from corporate and government experience, Florence worked closely with nonprofits, founding two nonprofit organizations and serving as a board member of the Los Angeles Police Foundation, Los Angeles Crime Stoppers, and the University of Southern California’s Asian American Alumni Association. She was also appointed by the Mayor of Los Angeles to serve as a City Commissioner for the Los Angeles Convention & Exhibition Center Authority. Currently, Florence serves as a member of the New York City Police Foundation Board of Trustees. Florence has been a frequent speaker, invited to speak in forums such as the 2013 National Homeland Security Conference, 2012 FEMA Regional Leadership Conference on Public/Private Partnerships, and the 2011 City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Conference. She also was a guest lecturer on corporate social responsibility trends at the University of Southern California. Florence holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California (USC). Florence is a native of Los Angeles, lives in New York City, and can be found on either coast.
