Robert S Basso

Mr. Robert S. Basso founded BEST Partners, LLC in 2006 and serves as its Managing Director. Mr. Basso served as Executive Vice President of National Financial clearing and execution subsidiary of Fidelity from July 2003 to December 2004. Mr. Basso served as Managing Director of UBS PaineWebber Inc. for more than 10 years. He also served as President of Broadcort Capital Corporation and Managing Director of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith. He founded BEST Partners LLC, an independent financial services consulting company, in 2006. From January 1990 to June 2003, he served as Chairman and President of Correspondent Services Corporation, a subsidiary of UBS PaineWebber Inc. He served as vice chair of the National Association of Securities Dealers (now known as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority - FINRA) District 1 Conduct Committee, and the Chairman of its nominating committee. He has been a Director of Poniard Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since May 2007. He has been an Independent Director of Penson Worldwide Inc since February 9, 2012. Mr. Basso served as Trustee of the Securities Industry's Foundation for Investor Education, chairman of the Western District of the Securities Industry Association (now known as the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association - SIFMA), a member of SIA's national board. He served as a Director of Aphton Corp., from 1984 to December 19, 2006. Mr. Basso holds a BS from Seton Hall University and an MBA from Pace University.
