Michelle Beale (BA '66, JD '77) said her experiences at The University of Tulsa and, subsequently, as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Karachi, changed her life and shaped the woman she would become. Pakistan in the 1960s, as today, was plagued by political instability. Beale appreciated the time she spent interacting with the Pakistani people and learning how to see similarities rather than differences. Beale began her professional career in the communications department of Skelly Oil Co. in Tulsa, and later headed up the public affairs and government relations functions for Getty Oil Co. in Houston. In the 1980s, Beale transitioned from the oil industry to the beverage industry, joining Coca-Cola as vice president of the company’s noncarbonated beverage division. She had a long and distinguished career with The Coca-Cola Co. and retired as Coca-Cola Foods Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Public Affairs and Administration. Beale is a member of the TU Board of Trustees and retired senior vice president for Minute Maid Co. Beale and her husband established the R. Michelle Beale and Richard H. Anderson Endowed Student Enhancement Fund through a planned gift. The experiences outside the classroom will help young people develop leadership skills and prepare them to excel.
