A Senior Executive Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton, Abe Zwany has more than 35 years of experience supporting commercial clients and federal agencies in an effort to improve their organizational performance. Mr. Zwany focuses on projects that align organizational strategy, structure, and human capital management. He has considerable experience working with the senior executives of large and complex organizations, including federal military, intelligence, law enforcement, and civilian agencies, and state and local governments. His responsibilities include internal group leadership, multiple project management, contract requirements, and financial and deliverables management. At Booz Allen, Mr. Zwany has led numerous high-profile projects, including managing a team that developed a high-level operating model for the senior management of a large federal agency. He and his team designed specific governing structures and processes for functions such as IT and acquisition and for overseeing state and local government relationships. They also advised the agency on the detailed design, analysis, and costing of alternative compensation systems ranging from competency-based broadband to performance-based salary and incentive management programs. He is currently supporting a large federal agency effort to transform its entire leadership workforce, from first-line supervisor through senior executives, in order to create a more customer-focused, performance-driven organization. In addition, he and his team managed a multi-year series of tasks for a federal agency. The team contributed services that included developing a vision for the future design of the process and identifying a baseline process to determine current and future improvement needs. They assessed the impact of the new design on people, process, and technology and developed in-line and continuous improvement systems for an operating component. Mr. Zwany also oversaw the development of an integrated planning system that tied strategic workforce planning to business planning at a large federal agency and its selected centers. It included the development of a combined workforce and workspace planning methodology to permit a more effective response to a major new initiative. Prior to joining Booz Allen, Mr. Zwany was a vice president with the Hay Group, specializing in performance management, workforce planning, human resource management, and compensation projects for the federal government. Mr. Zwany has authored or co-authored numerous industry-related reports and journal articles. He has an MBA in management and organizational behavior from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Columbia University.
