City of El Segundo

El Segundo is a city in Los Angeles County, incorporated in 1917 and located along Santa Monica Bay, bordered by LAX, Manhattan Beach, and the Pacific Ocean. Nicknamed “The Aerospace Capital of the World,” roughly three-quarters of the city’s land is dedicated to industrial and commercial uses, including major aerospace firms, technology companies, and a large oil refinery. With a population of about 17,000, El Segundo operates under a council-manager form of government and maintains a strong tax base that supports city services, schools, and infrastructure. The city combines a small residential community with regional economic significance, playing an outsized role in Southern California’s aerospace, energy, and corporate sectors.
