Regional Food Code for Europe
1954 Codex Alimentarius Europaeus Austria actively pursues the creation of a regional food code, the Codex Alimentarius Europaeus, or European Codex Alimentarius. Dr Hans Frenzel was Minster of Public Alimentation in Austria after the 2nd World War and he developed the idea of creating a European Codex Alimentarius Commission. With the consent of the European states the European Council of the Codex Alimentarius Europaeus was established in 1958.
