EachNet was established in August 1999 by two companies, Shanghai Eachnet Information Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Eachnet Commercial Co., Ltd. On March 17, 2002, eBay and EachNet formed a strategic business relationship. eBay initially invested US$30 million to acquire a 33% interest in the company. On July 16, 2003, eBay completed its investment in EachNet, acquiring all of its remaining outstanding common stockfor US$150 million. In July 2004, EachNet launched its new name, eBay EachNet.
