HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES Ensuring that the most vulnerable residents receive much-needed assistance Through the Pew Fund for Health and Human Services in Philadelphia, The Pew Charitable Trusts helps to ensure that the most vulnerable residents of the region receive much-needed assistance by supporting a range of programs that serve three at-risk populations: Vulnerable adults. Disadvantaged children, youth, and their families. Frail elderly. The organizations that directly serve these individuals and their families are making a difference every day through their compassion, commitment to evidence-based best practices, and the ability to continually learn from experience. Since its inception, the Pew Fund has awarded over $225 million to approximately 335 nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia region. Eligibility and application process Pew Fund support is limited to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in and providing services in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Grants are awarded in each of the three population categories once every three years, according to the schedule described below. To apply for funding, nonprofit organizations should request a Letter of Intent (LOI) announcement for the population that would be served. An organization should apply only if it determines that there is a clear fit between its proposed services and the Pew Fund’s objectives and guidelines, as set forth in the LOI announcement. Based on a review of the LOI submissions, a subset of applicants will be invited to submit full proposals. Pew Fund grant-making schedule Our funding cycles follow the schedules below.
