Community Foundation of Santa Cruz

Founded in 1982, we provide individuals, families and businesses with ways to make giving simple, powerful and personal. We offer professional advisors resources and tools to help you meet your clients’ charitable goals. We are committed to strengthening the local nonprofit sector and each year offer grants, workshops and resources to hundreds of local organizations. We stand behind our mission, goal and values. WHAT IS A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION? We are a tax-exempt public charity serving people who share a common interest to improve the quality of life in Santa Cruz County, and beyond, through philanthropy. In the U.S., there are more than 750 community foundations. In 2014, as a group we gave an estimated $4.9 billion to a variety of nonprofit activities in fields that included the arts, education, health, human services, environment and disaster relief.
