History Foundations for a Better Oregon (FBO) was created in 2004 by six foundations united by a common purpose: a better state for all. Together, we believe that by sharing ideas, coordinating strategy, and leveraging joint resources, we can make an exceptional impact. ​ *denotes current member ​​Affiliate Membership In 2012, Foundations for a Better Oregon expanded its collective impact by establishing the affiliate membership program. The diverse group of individuals and foundations that make up the affiliate member program share a common commitment to Oregon's K-12 public education system. Affiliate Members contribute a multiple-year, self-determined dollar amount to support the work of Chalkboard Project.
