Started in 1910 by Mr. Joyce C. Hall, Hallmark Cards sells greeting cards products and art supplies in 43,000 retail outlets in 100 countries. Among its subsidiaries are Crayola, which makes Crayola crayons and markers, and Silly Putty. Subsidiary Crown Media Holdings is a publicly traded company (nasdaq: CRWN) that owns and operates the Hallmark Channel.
