An association of oil and gas companies advising civil society on climate change mitigation
The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative is an industry-driven initiative which aims to catalyze practical action on climate change in focus areas such as the role of natural gas, carbon reduction instruments and tools, and long-term energy solutions. It was formed in September 2014, and in October 2015 released a report detailing some of its goals. The OGCI hopes to contain warming to 2°C by reducing emissions, particularly by scaling up natural gas facilities and investing in Carbon Capture Storage.
