For the first time in 16 years, Mayor Slay is not running for reelection. No matter who is elected to fill his office, the city will face significant changes over the next four years. The Democratic supermajority in the City of St. Louis almost guarantees the election of the winner of Tuesday, March 7th's Democratic Party primary as our next mayor. The five front-runners for Democratic nominee are Lewis Reed, Lyda Krewson, Antonio French, Tishaura Jones, and Jeffrey Boyd.
This interactive graphic visualizes the donor bases of St. Louis mayoral candidates' using Missouri Ethics Commission filings from January 2016 through the last update. Click on a name or arrow to reveal the source information. (This map works best on a desktop Chrome browser.)
Some organizations or people have been added to the map to give context to the associated donor. The donor will be connected by a line to the related entity. (Example: the director of a non-profit gives to a candidate. The non-profit has more name recognition, so both are added to the map.)
As a living document, this map will be updated regularly between now and the primary. Check back at bit.ly/stlmayor for updates.
