Shawn is the Senior Vice President of International Operations and Marketing Strategy at United Media. As Senior Vice President, she oversees all aspects of the company's international business including Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Shawn graduated from Occidental in 1986 and received a Bachelor of Arts in biology/psychology. She received her MBA in marketing & general management from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. At Occidental, Shawn was a two-time NCAA champion in the heptathlon and a nine-time NCAA All-American honoree. She was inducted into the Occidental College Hall of Fame in 1991. She began her business career as the Marketing Manager of Wheaties before becoming Product Manager at Jell-O. Shawn joined Major League Baseball Properties in 1995 and held a variety of marketing positions. Shawn was later promoted to Vice President of International Licensing and Sponsorship for Major League Baseball. She was responsible for all aspects of Major League Baseball's international licensing operations, corporate sponsorship, and marketing relationships for business development overseas. Under her guidance, MLB's international sponsorship revenues jumped 35% in 2004, while the consumer products business nearly tripled to $247 million in sales in less than five years. In 2003, MLB's licensing program in Japan was named Best Sports/Special Events Brand License of the Year by the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association.
