Margo Georgiadis was named Ancestry President and CEO and appointed to the Board of Directors in May 2018. Prior to joining Ancestry, Margo served as CEO of Mattel, the global leader in play, learning and development. Previously she was the President of Americas at Google, overseeing commercial operations and advertising sales, and before that was Google’s Vice President of Global Sales Operations Margo is the president of Americas operations at Google. In this role, she leads the company's North American and Latin American advertising sales and operations teams, which provide digital solutions to Google's large and small clients. Previously, from 2009-2011, she was VP of global sales operations at Google. In this capacity, she was responsible for driving Google’s sales operations and strategies, as well as leading the sales technology teams that enable the successful commercialization of Google’s products. Margo was the chief operating officer of Groupon, Inc. and before that, she spent five years as the executive vice president of card products and chief marketing officer of Discover Financial Services, where she led a radical turnaround of business performance and revitalized its rewards leadership with award-winning new products, customer experience and marketing. Prior to Discover, Margo was a partner at McKinsey and Company for 15 years in London and Chicago. She was a leader in the firm’s marketing and retail practices and also co-founded and led the customer acquisition and management and retail marketing practices. She earned a BA in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
