Peetz was president of Bank of New York Mellon from 2013 until her retirement at the end of 2016. She joined BNY Mellon in 1998, serving in leadership roles including vice chairman, senior EVP, and CEO of the Financial Markets and Treasury Services Group. Previously, she spent 16 years with JPMorgan Chase in various management, sales and corporate lending positions. She currently serves on the boards of Johns Hopkins University and the Global Lyme Alliance. Karen Peetz, Senior Executive Vice President is responsible for the Financial Markets and Treasury Services Sector within BNY Mellon. Prior to this assignment, Ms. Peetz was the business manager responsible for Global Corporate Trust and she led the integration of the JPMorgan asset swap in 2006. Ms. Peetz also managed the global payments business. Ms. Peetz joined The Bank of New York in 1998 to run the domestic corporate trust business. Before joining The Bank of New York, Ms. Peetz spent sixteen years with JPMorgan Chase, formerly Chase Manhattan and Chemical Bank. While at Chase, she had several sales and business management positions, including an assignment in London. After completing Chemical Bank’s credit training program, Ms. Peetz was a commercial lending officer. Ms. Peetz is a member of BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee, the organization’s most senior management body, which oversees day-to-day operations. Ms. Peetz is the chairperson of United Way of New York City’s Board and an Executive Committee and Board member for the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Ms. Peetz also serves on Penn State’s Presidential Leadership Academy Advisory Board and on the Campaign for Penn State Students. Ms. Peetz received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University.
