Judge Diana Lewis was elected to serve as Circuit Court Judge in 2002. Since that time, Judge Lewis has handled a large case load and has heard cases on numerous complex litigation issues. Before serving as a judge, Ms. Lewis spent nearly 20 years as a trial attorney. She has successfully argued high profile cases including medical malpractice, products liability and healthcare. Professional Service: Judge Lewis has served in many capacities for Palm Beach County professional organizations, including past Chairman of the Judicial Relations Committee for the Palm Beach County Bar Association, past Chairman of Ethics in Advocacy program of the Bench Bar Conference, Chairman of the Judicial Evaluation Subcommittee and has served on a Florida Bar Grievance Committee. Education: Judge Lewis is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, both undergraduate and Law School. She now serves with highly distinguished individuals on Notre Dame’s Board of Trustees. Community Service: Judge Lewis dedicates her experience, time and financial support to many charitable organizations in Palm Beach County, especially charities that benefit children. Among her community accomplishments, she serves on the Board of Directors for Catholic Relief Services and a trustee of the Frank J. Lewis Foundation, funding local and national charitable organizations. Personal: Judge Lewis was born and raised in Palm Beach County. As one of nine children, Judge Lewis’ father, Phil Lewis served in the Florida State Senate for ten years and was President of the Florida State Senate. Lewis, a member of the Notre Dame Board since 1994, is a judge in West Palm Beach, Fla. She earned her bachelor’s and law degrees from Notre Dame and a master’s degree in education from Florida Atlantic University. She is a member of the Guild of Catholic Lawyers, member of the board of directors of Catholic Relief Services and a member of FADICA (Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities). Before her election to the Board of Trustees, she served on the Advisory Council for the Notre Dame Law School.
