Michael F. Gerber is Senior Managing Director of Corporate Affairs at FS Investments. Mr. Gerber serves on the firm’s Executive Committee and leads the communications, investor relations and government and regulatory affairs teams. Additionally, he oversees the firm’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, leads FS’s diversity and inclusion strategy and serves as President of the FS Investments Foundation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gerber was a member of the Board of Directors for FS Investments’ third fund, FS Investment Corporation II, and practiced law at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, where he was a member of the firm’s Corporate and Securities practice group. Mr. Gerber has a history of public service, having served eight years in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and six years as a trustee of Pennsylvania’s State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS), where he was a member of the Audit and Investment Committees. Earlier in his career, he served as legal counsel to Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell’s transition team and as a law clerk for Judge Ronald L. Buckwalter of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Most recently, Mr. Gerber advised both Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney’s transition teams. Mr. Gerber serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, where he is also a member of the Executive Committee. Additionally, he is on the advisory board of the Children’s Scholarship Fund of Philadelphia and a Trustee for Camp Tecumseh, a sports camp for boys in Moultonboro, NH. Mr. Gerber earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated cum laude from Villanova University School of Law, where he received a scholarship award for his involvement in community legal services. Mr. Gerber lives with his wife and three children in the Philadelphia suburbs.
