Ebsco Industries is a diversified conglomerate comprised of over forty diverse business units. Its primary businesses include providing journal and magazine subscription services to libraries and corporations and the manufacturing of fishing lures and hunting-related products. Ebsco's other operations include commercial printing, publishing, commercial and residential real estate development, steel joist manufacturing, promotional products distribution, other light manufacturing and service-related businesses. The word "EBSCO" is an acronym for Elton B. Stephens Co. Stephens and his wife, Alys, founded the company in 1944. The company started out providing the U.S. military with magazines, personalized magazine binders and display stands. Today F.
