Frederick H Schultz

Frederick H. Schultz was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1963 and served as Speaker from 1968 to 1970. In this capacity, he had major responsibility for the widely cited reorganization of the Florida Legislature. He was awarded the Louis Brownlow Prize, given jointly by the Council of State Governments and the American Association of Public Administration, for the best published writing in the area of state government in 1969, an article on the Florida state legislative reorganization. Mr. Schultz lost by a small margin in the Democratic primary in his race for U.S. Senate in 1970. He is currently the Chairman of the Governor's Citizen Committee on Education.
